Manitou Deer Meat Smoker | 2011 | Manitou Springs, Colorado
This work was a temporary, site-specific installation. “Manitou Deer Meat Smoker” was intended to generate conversation about art, history, and the environment. Based on historic photos from the early 1900’s of this site, the former location of the Manitou Springs Volunteer Fire Department, this project draws on the physical and social history of Manitou Springs. As part of the installation, a re-creation of a “Smoker” event took place at the Manitou Springs Historical Society.
